Privacy policy

This policy explains what LottoWide stores when you use it. LottoWide is operated from Canada. You can use results, jackpots, odds and the number check without an account; then only the preference cookies below are kept, in your browser.
If you sign in
Sign-in uses Google. From Google we receive only:
- your Google account identifier,
- your email address (it must be verified with Google),
- your name.
We never see your Google password, and we do not keep Google’s access or ID tokens after you sign in.
With an account, we store what you create:
- the date you confirmed you are of legal age to play lotteries,
- your saved numbers and their match history,
- your favorite lotteries,
- your alerts and the notifications sent for them.
Why we use it
Only to run these features: to show your lists, check your saved numbers against new results, and send the alert emails you set up. We do not sell your data, show advertising based on it, or share it except with the service providers below, as needed to run the site.
Where your data is held and who helps us run the site
LottoWide runs on a server rented from OVHcloud in Canada, where your account data is stored. Cloudflare provides our DNS, network and security services: every request to the site passes through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details (such as the page address and your browser) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Alert emails are sent from [email protected] through Resend, in the United States, which receives your email address and the content of each message. Google handles sign-in, as described above.
Backups
Each day an encrypted copy of our database is stored with Backblaze B2 in Canada and deleted within 31 days. The copies kept on our server are deleted after 7 days.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in Canada, where it is stored, and in the United States (email delivery), and, for visitor statistics, the European Union. Cloudflare handles each request in one of its data centers around the world, usually the one closest to you. We use these providers only to run LottoWide and rely on their data protection terms.
Artificial intelligence
To collect lottery results, we use an AI service (Anthropic’s Claude) to read public lottery result pages. Your account data, email address and saved numbers are never sent to it.
Visitor statistics
To see which pages are read and how people find them, LottoWide counts visits with Umami (Umami Cloud), which uses no cookies. For each page view it records the page address, the page you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, and your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored.
It also counts a few actions: running an odds simulation, sharing an odds result, checking numbers, choosing to get a lottery’s results by email and finishing sign-in. These record only the lottery and how many tickets, never the numbers you pick or enter, or anything from your account.
The statistics are kept by Umami Cloud in the European Union for six months. If your browser blocks the script, nothing is sent.
Emails
You receive email only for alerts you create: a draw reminder, a new result for a lottery you follow, a jackpot above your amount, or a match with your saved numbers. Draw reminders are sent when they are due; the other alerts come together in one daily or weekly summary, as you choose. Remove an alert to stop its emails.
Cookies
- SESSION — keeps you signed in (up to 14 days, or until you sign out).
- XSRF-TOKEN — protects your account actions against forged requests.
- lh_tz, lh_tz_choice, lh_display_currency — remember your time zone (and whether you chose it) and display currency (one year).
- lh_theme — remembers whether you chose a light or dark look, or your device’s setting (one year).
- lh_next — remembers the page to return to after signing in (ten minutes).
LottoWide uses no advertising cookies, and its visitor statistics use none.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data until you delete your account; we do not delete inactive accounts automatically. You can delete your account at any time on the Account page. This immediately deletes your account, saved numbers, match history, favorites, alerts and notifications, and signs you out on every device. Copies in our backups are deleted within 31 days. You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to [email protected].
Your rights and questions
You can ask what we store about you, or to correct or delete it, by contacting [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
